With a track record dating to 1910, ours is probably one of the longest-running marine facility on the Chesapeake Bay. We have serviced and sheltered a virtual sea of vessels – from steel tugboats to World War II sub chasers and PT boats, from oyster schooners that worked for a living to John F. Kennedy’s “floating White House,” a luxurious 62’ sailing yacht.
The facility, which had been associated with the Deagle family since the mid-‘30s, reopened under new management by two brothers, Rick and Jon Farinholt, in 2006 as Chesapeake Marine Railway. Over the years, as boats have evolved from wood to steel to fiberglass, we have evolved as well. Today we offer additional conveniences such as wireless internet, restrooms, laundry facilities, nearby anchorage and dockage.
